Portage Theater Foundation is committed to the preservation of Chicago's cultural heritage. Our campaign focuses on the restoration and reopening of the Portage Theater, ensuring that the architectural grandeur and historic charm of Six Corners are maintained for future generations. Additionally, the foundation will act as a bridge to the Chicago community to provide continual support for the Portage Theater as well as community-centric events and programming. 

Our Restoration & Foundation Goals

The Portage Theater Restoration project is divided into key phases to ensure every detail is addressed with historical accuracy and modern efficiency. We will be producing weekly community events and job training for various technical & professional skills.  Our goal is to preserve architectural beauty while making Portage Theater ready to hold modern concerts, movies, and events for the next 100 years!

  • Floor plan enhancement to service wide variety of concerts, movies, farmers markets, and other events
